Fanny Scat Investigates is an amateur-detective comedy series set on the glittering gay mile of Oxford Street, Sydney - home of the world-famous Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade. It follows the adventures of Fanny Scat, a middle-aged drag queen who, in the face of a changing world, turns to private investigating in order to make ends meet.

 

Fanny is famous for her outrageous homemade costumes and a complete lack of boundaries when it comes to entertaining an audience. ​She was once a star, but times have changed. Her glam pub is now a run-down backpacker bar, the cabaret room is full of poker machines, and at 45, Fanny finds herself broke, alone, and in the midst of a midlife crisis.

 

A serial bum-bag thief is targeting her bar, visitor numbers have crashed, and the bar can no longer afford Fanny's wage. With only a week of employment left and her career hanging by a g-string, Fanny decides to investigate... and things get stranger.
